Lysefjord Cruise & Guided Pulpit Rock Hike

Summer (w/ Self-Guided Hike)

Want a total Pulpit Rock experience? This is the tour for you. First we give you an amazing fjord cruise through the extraordinary scenery of Lysefjord. After the cruise, you hike to the famous view from the top of Pulpit Rock.

The boat sails from Stavanger through unforgettable fjord landscapes of idyllic islands, rocky shores, steep mountains, and powerful waterfalls. Underway, you’ll be offered a taste of clear mountain water from Hengjane Falls and see the Vagabond’s Cave of legend.

Then we drop you off at the village of Forsand to take a bus to the Preikestolen trailhead for a hike to the famous plateau. The hike will take about two hours each way from the bus.

After hiking back down, you take a bus back to Stavanger. Our modern, comfortable boats have sundecks, spacious cabins, and kiosks offering refreshments, including beer and wine. New eco-friendly vessel from Stavanger.

Winter (w/ Guided Hike)

Enjoy challenges? Hate crowds? Love spectacular scenery? This combination tour is for you. First cruise magnificent Lysefjord, stunning in its winter glow, past charming islands, sheer mountains, and mighty waterfalls. Taste mountain water from the Hengjane Falls (if it isn’t frozen), see Vagabond’s Cave of legend and gaze up at Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock).

Your guide and transport await in Forsand village for the next leg: A thrilling hike up to the famous Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock) plateau for world-class, panoramic views. We provide everything, including transport plus crampons and headlamps (if one or both is needed), except warm clothing, solid hiking boots and a packed lunch/beverages.

In summer, tourists crowd the trail and Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock). In winter, both seem to be yours alone! Return to Stavanger by bus.
