The Sognefjord, Norway’s longest and deepest fjord, extends more than 200 km inland to the foot of the Jotunheimen mountains. This area is said to be one of the most beautiful travel destinations in the world. The Sognefjord is called the King of the fjords for a good reason: it is the longest ice free fjord in the world. The Sognefjorden is enveloped with exceptional natural beauty, tall mountains, waterfalls and scenic forests.
Flåm is a charming village surrounded by precipitous mountainsides, rumbling waterfalls and narrow valleys. Here we can have lunch, visit the Flåm Railway Museum or just wander around in the harbour. The trip continues with the Flåm Railway which is one of the world's steepest railway. The 20 km long train journey from Flåm to Myrdal gives you a panoramic view of some of the wildest and most magnificent of Norwegian mountain nature, including the famous Kjosfossen waterfall. The train spends about an hour on the trip. At Myrdal station, a train changes to the Bergen Line which takes us back to Bergen.
This tour includes a cruise by express boat on the Sognefjord and train journeys through spectacular nature on the famous Flåm Railway and the Bergen Railway. Along the way, you will be informed of places and history by our local guide who will be your traveling companion throughout the tour.
Meet your guide 7.30 am at the Express Boat Terminal in the city center, a short walk from most hotels.
