This round tour from Bergen to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Nærøyfjord and Flåm Railway is legendary, and it will take you through some of the most beautiful scenery in Fjord Norway. The tour includes a journey on the Bergen Railway, a bus trip, a premium fjord cruise, Flåm Railway and is Norway's most popular.
At Bergen Railway Station the tour starts with the scenic Bergen Line to Voss. At the railway station in Voss you find the bus to Gudvangen, and in the summer months the bus runs through Stalheimskleiva, the 1.5 km long road section that winds down Nærøydalen from Stalheim.
Well ahead in Gudvangen, at the bottom of the Nærøyfjord, you board the electric ship "Future of the fjords" to Flåm.The Nærøyfjord is one of the narrowest fjords in world and the cruise to Flåm takes about 2 hours. The boat is battery operated, high comfort, large windows and good patio. In 2005, the Nærøyfjord was incorporated on the UNESCO World Heritage list together with the Geirangerfjord. The fjord is surrounded by high mountains and is a beautiful sight both in summer and winter.
Flåm is a charming village surrounded by precipitous mountainsides, rumbling waterfalls and narrow valleys. Here we can have lunch, visit the Flåm Railway Museum or just wander around in the busy harbour. The trip continues with the Flåm Railway which is one of the world's steepest railway. The 20 km long train journey from Flåm to Myrdal gives you a panoramic view of some of the wildest and most magnificent of Norwegian mountain nature, including the famous Kjosfossen waterfall. At Myrdal station, a train changes to the Bergen Line which takes you back to Bergen and the tour ends at Bergen Railway Station.
