Enjoy a scenic journey along the Hardangerfjord on a guided day tour from Bergen. Experience breathtaking landscape of mountains, spectacular waterfalls and lush fruit gardens.

Discover the spectacular Hardangerfjord on a full-day guided tour from Bergen, combining dramatic waterfalls, picturesque fjord villages and some of Western Norway’s most beautiful scenery.

Travel in a comfortable vehicle through a constantly changing landscape of mountains, valleys, waterfalls and traditional communities. Much of the journey follows the shores of the magnificent Hardangerfjord, Norway’s second-longest fjord, offering beautiful views across the water and towards the surrounding mountains.

Along the way, you will pass charming fjord villages such as Norheimsund and Øystese, known for their beautiful location, fruit orchards and traditional Norwegian scenery. The drive itself is an important part of the experience, with scenic roads winding along the fjord and through some of the most impressive landscapes in Western Norway.

During the day, you will visit three spectacular waterfalls.

At Steinsdalsfossen, you can follow the walkway behind the waterfall and experience the rushing water from a unique perspective. This is one of Hardanger’s best-known natural attractions and a popular stop for visitors to the region.

The journey continues towards Vøringsfossen, one of Norway’s most famous waterfalls. With a total height of 182 metres, the waterfall plunges dramatically into the Måbødalen valley below. From the viewpoints around Fossli, you can enjoy impressive views of the waterfall, the deep valley and the surrounding mountain landscape.

You will also visit Skjervsfossen, a beautiful twin waterfall surrounded by dramatic scenery. Here you can experience the falls from several viewpoints and enjoy excellent opportunities for photos.

A longer stop is made in Eidfjord, a picturesque village located at the end of the Hardangerfjord. You will have approximately one hour of free time to enjoy lunch, walk along the waterfront, visit local cafés and shops, or simply relax and take in the fjord views.

Throughout the day, your local guide will share information and stories about the Hardanger region, its nature, history, villages and way of life.

The tour departs from Strandkaien in central Bergen and returns to Bergen after a full day of fjords, waterfalls, villages and spectacular Norwegian scenery.

This tour is ideal for travellers who want to experience the highlights of the Hardangerfjord region in one day, with plenty of time to enjoy the scenery and some of Western Norway’s most impressive natural attractions.

Voss

Voss is surrounded by snow-capped mountains, forests, lakes and fast-flowing whitewater rivers.

This has led to its development as a notable center of skiing, water sports, skydiving, paragliding and other adventure sports. Every year in the last week of June the area hosts the Extreme Sports Week which is regarded as the world’s premier extreme sports festival. Bømoen, the local airstrip, is home to Skydive Voss, one of the largest dropzones in Norway, as well as a gliding club. The rivers provide various levels of white water, attracting kayaking, rafting and river boarding. Kite surfing and para-bungee may be seen on lake Vangsvatnet. The ski area, to the north of the town, is accessible via a cable car, Hangursbanen.

Skjervsfossen Waterfall

Skjervsfossen is a big and beautiful waterfall not far from Voss.
