Private guided tour - the Hardangerfjord & 4 Great Waterfalls

Explore the Hardangerfjord on a private day tour from Bergen. Visit four spectacular waterfalls, discover scenic fjord villages, and enjoy panoramic mountain views from the Voss Gondola.

Discover the spectacular Hardangerfjord on a private full-day tour from Bergen, combining dramatic waterfalls, charming fjord villages and some of Western Norway’s most beautiful scenery.

Travel in comfort with your private local guide as you leave Bergen behind and journey into the heart of the Hardangerfjord region. Along the way, experience a constantly changing landscape of deep fjords, towering mountains, peaceful villages, fruit orchards and powerful waterfalls.

The journey follows the beautiful Hardangerfjord, Norway’s second-longest fjord, passing through picturesque communities such as Norheimsund, Øystese and Eidfjord. Cross the impressive Hardanger Bridge and enjoy magnificent views across the fjord while your guide shares stories about the region, its history, local life and the forces of nature that have shaped this extraordinary landscape.

One of the highlights of the tour is the opportunity to experience four spectacular waterfalls, each offering a completely different experience.

At Fossen Bratte, watch the water plunge almost 80 metres down the mountainside on the scenic road between Bergen and Hardangerfjord.

Continue to Steinsdalsfossen, one of the most unusual waterfalls in Norway. A specially constructed path allows you to walk behind the cascading water, giving you a unique perspective of the waterfall and beautiful views across the Steinsdalen valley. Fossen Bratte

The journey then takes you deeper into the Hardanger region to magnificent Vøringsfossen, one of Norway’s most famous waterfalls. Here, enormous volumes of water plunge 182 metres from the Hardangervidda plateau into the dramatic Måbødalen valley. From the spectacular viewpoints near the historic Fossli Hotel, you can look directly into the deep canyon and experience one of Norway’s most impressive natural attractions. Hardanger

Another highlight is Skjervsfossen, a beautiful twin waterfall surrounded by steep mountains and lush Norwegian scenery. Walk along the paths and viewpoints and get close enough to experience the sound, spray and power of the falling water. Nasjonale turistveger

Throughout the day, there will be plenty of opportunities to stop for photographs, explore the viewpoints and simply take in the scenery. Because this is a private tour, the day offers a more relaxed and personal experience than a standard group excursion, with greater flexibility along the way.

Your local guide will take care of the journey while sharing insights into the fjords, waterfalls, villages and landscapes you pass, allowing you to sit back and enjoy one of the most scenic road trips in Western Norway.

This private tour is an excellent choice for travelers who want to experience the very best of Hardangerfjord in one day – combining four spectacular waterfalls, dramatic fjord scenery, charming villages and some of Norway’s most unforgettable viewpoints.

Fossen Bratte Waterfall

Fossen Bratte, also called Brudesløret, Eikedalsfoss or Brattefossen is one of the big waterfalls near Bergen on the way between Bergen and Norheimsund in the region Hordaland.

Although Steinsdalsfossen is the main attraction in the Bergen region with busloads of people, some people find Fossen Bratte maybe even more impressive. Fossen Bratte means steep waterfall and that is a statement: The river Eikedalselva thunders down in a single drop over 79 meters.

Steinsdalsfossen Waterfall

Steinsdalsfossen is a waterfall in the municipality of Kvam in Vestland county.

Yes. Our tours run in most weather, and the fjords are impressive in every season. A tour is only cancelled or rescheduled when conditions make it unsafe — and if that happens, we contact you.
